Thanks to our infrared dehydration process, our infused fruits maintain their nutritional values in almost the same proportions as their fresh preparation.

Origin

VidaViva Ecofood infused fruits are made from organically produced fruits from the island of La Palma (Canary Islands), World Biosphere Reserve, known as La Isla Bonita (The Beautiful Island) for its beautiful and diverse landscapes.

The fields are located specifically in the municipality of Tijarafe, at various altitudes ranging from 270 m above sea level to 800 m and in areas with excellent conditions for agroecology. After our plantations and crops were affected by the volcano that erupted in 2021, we hope that all the nutrient-laden ash, together with the island’s pure air, its incomparable mountain water and its wonderful light with many hours of sunshine, will contribute to improve the production and quality of our raw materials.

After harvesting, fresh fruits are subjected to an infrared dehydration process that allows them to maintain almost all their nutritional properties, as well as their color and flavor. Once dehydrated, they are combined and packaged in a traditional way in our processing center, resulting in a natural, healthy, delicious and nutritious product.

Properties of dried fruits

VidaViva Ecofood’s dehydrated products, such as Esencia de La Palma infused fruits, are super nutritious. 100 g of dried fruits are equivalent to 1 kg of fresh fruit. Our infrared dehydration process, by removing water at low temperature and in a controlled manner, prevents food from losing its nutrients and other properties. For example, vitamin C is reduced to only 50%, while when cooked or baked, this vitamin practically disappears.

Therefore, dehydrated fruits retain their nutritional values in almost the same proportions as fresh fruits, especially minerals and some vitamins. Perhaps, for this reason, this is one of the oldest methods of food preservation in existence.

Uses

The consumption of dehydrated fruit infusions is an excellent alternative to dried herbal teas, healthy and original. It provides the energy of our fruit mix, but without theine!

For an optimal infusion process, fill a cup of boiling water and add 1 level tablespoon of our fruit infusion mix. Cover and wait 10 to 15 minutes to enjoy. You can also prepare 1 liter of infusion by adding 4 level soup spoons.

Infused fruits can be eaten and can be used to make or add to compotes, pies and desserts. They are also reusable a second time by adding a little more non-infused fruit.

The dehydrated fruit infusion can be drunk hot or cold (it is recommended to keep it at least 2 hours in the refrigerator).

Conservation

Our fruit mix for infusion lasts in good conditions for two years. For proper storage, it should be kept in its original container or, better yet, transferred to an airtight glass jar and stored in a cool, dark and dry place.
