Description

Basil tomato is a product made with semi-dried tomatoes, which are then seasoned with garlic, basil, extra virgin olive oil and salt. This delicious product is great to add to your salads, to your sandwiches, it is great for pastas and you can also eat them alone.

A product suitable for vegans, for athletes, gluten-free and lactose-free, handmade, produced organically and made on the island of La Palma.

Thanks to our infrared dehydration process, our dehydrated vegetables maintain their nutritional values in almost the same proportions as their fresh preparation.

It is a convenient, different and healthy way to consume vegetables.

Origin

The vegetables we use at VidaViva Ecofood to obtain our dehydrated vegetables are organically grown on Isla Bonita, which is renowned for its many stunning landscapes. Our plantations, which range from 270 to 800 meters above sea level and are located in the municipality of Tijarafe, are in excellent condition.

Like all the Canary Islands, La Palma is a volcanic island, as a result, in 2021, a volcano erupted on the island, affecting our plantations and crops. Volcanoes not only cause damage, their ashes are also rich in nutrients and are excellent for crops, particularly ours. As a result of these nutrients, the island’s clean air, its natural mountain water and its wonderful hours of sunshine, both our production and quality have increased.

The tomatoes are harvested by hand when they are ready to be picked, after which they undergo a dehydration process and are then seasoned with the other ingredients. After going through the whole process, we have our basil tomato, which is then packaged in glass jars and gives rise to our wonderful product.

Conservation

Our dehydrated vegetables have, in good conditions, two years of preferential consumption, but in reality they can be consumed for five years. For proper preservation, they should be kept in their original packaging and stored in a cool, dark and dry place.
